Embed Community

Layouts​

Bettermode allows you to embed your entire community with three different layouts:

  • Default (default): includes the header and main navigation sidebar
  • No-sidebar (no-sidebar): includes the header but without the navigation sidebar on the left
  • Basic (basic): only includes the content area without the header and navigation sidbar

To use these layouts you can easily pass the layout query string to any Bettermode URL.

Default Layout (default)​

To embed the community with the header and navigation sidebar you can simply add ?layout=default to any Bettermode URL.

And if your community is installed on a directory (e.g. /hub):

If no layout is passed the default layout type will be used by default.

No-Sidebar Layout (no-sidebar)​

You can add ?layout=no-sidebar to any Bettermode URL to remove the navigation sidebar from the left side. Please note that this layout is a full-width layout and as a result it has 100% width with a small padding in the content area on desktop. Here is an example link:

Basic Layout (basic)​

Adding ?layout=basic to any Bettermode URL will remove the header and navigation sidebar and only the content area will be visible. This layout is a full-width layout as well and it has 100% width with a small padding in the content area on desktop. Here is an example link:

Usage​

Use any of the above URLs in an IFrame or WebView as explained in the Getting Started section to embed the community into your product or phone app.

You can use Bettermode's JWT SSO to make sure the member is authenticated in the IFrame or WebView. Learn more here.
